Costs & Funding
The John Anson Ford Park Infiltration Project was awarded $9.9 million in Prop 1 funding for construction through the State Water Resources Control Board.
Through the Los Angeles County Safe Clean Water Program, the project was allocated $8 million in Regional Program funding. The additional funding will increase the cistern infiltration system capacity from 8 acre-feet to 21.5 acre-feet. A final construction phase is expected to bring the project to a total capacity of 22.5 acre-feet.
In addition, the City was awarded a Stormwater for Recharge Use Pilot Program Grant from the Metropolitan Municipal Water District for the installation of monitoring equipment and assessment of the project’s effectiveness in recharging the groundwater basin. Upon completion of the John Anson Ford Park Infiltration Project, the City will be closer to achieving regional and federal water quality goals.
